Springfield's Own, Bee Sweet Creations, Designs Cakes And Fun Treats To Soothe Sugar Cravings
Breakable candy boxes, cake pops in a rainbow of colors and flavors, cakecicles, cheesecake cups, and even personalized water bottles.
They’re all creations from Becky Perry’s company, Bee Sweet Creations, that are ideal as gifts or party favors. Although she now filters her creative energy into trying new things, being artistic is not something that Perry ever felt was her strength.
“I never thought of myself as a creative person,” she said. “I never knew I had that in me.”
Despite that she offered to try to make confections for friends’ parties several years ago. “Then I realized it was actually something I enjoy,” Perry said.
“I found that it was actually something I was passionate about. I want to keep learning more and more,” Perry added. She studied different methods and ideas while staying at home with her children and dabbled on the business side. Then, as she put it, “life got in the way.”
She took a full-time job, and found that balancing work with a new business and family wasn’t an option.
The pandemic forced her to rethink that. Her job had been put on hold so Perry decided it was time to create again, officially relaunching earlier this year.
“It’s crazy that I do all this for somebody to smash it”
Much of her inspiration comes from TikTok. She concedes that the networking service has a reputation for being filled with dances and lip-syncing, but she’s found it to be a valuable resource.
“There’s a whole other side to it,” Perry said. “When I go on TikTok I’m seeing a lot of small businesses. I think it’s amazing that people are willing to help other people who are starting. I’ve learned so much of what to do and what not to do.”
Many of her recent success has come from people sharing her products on social media. Perry posts product menus and flash sales on Facebook and for now all of her work is done out of her Springfield home. Orders can be picked-up on specific dates and times, or delivery is available within a certain range.
A popular menu item, the breakable heart, comes with a wooden mallet. It’s a hollow chocolate heart that can be filled with whatever the customer prefers – such as candy, chocolate covered strawberries, jewelry or money. It’s one of Perry’s favorite things to make because of the beauty of the finished look.

With her Cricut machine she can personalize items, whether they’re food-based or not. She incorporates edible treats with wine glasses, mugs, and more so customers can also enjoy a more permanent keepsake.
Looking forward, Perry plans to add specialty cakes into her creations. A trial run with a number cake makes that something she’s looking forward to perfecting. And she would eventually like to have a physical store.
