EyeSeaFood Bringing Stellar Seafood to Springfield, MA
Springfield, MA – When you open a container of food from EyeSeaFood, the aroma that greets you is nothing short of amazing. The size, presentation, and flavors of each plate is testimony to the passion for great food that Owner, Jodanne St. George, possesses.
“I actually went to nursing school. When I finished, I would visit Atlanta and the crab spots they have there – and I realized there were none in this area. I wanted to bring a bit of those amazing flavors here. It was also an opportunity to build my daughter’s college fund,” St. George shared. “I started making meals at home, and then transitioned to running a food truck while continuing to work as nurse. Then, I decided to do the food truck full time, and now, we have the restaurant.”
Lobster & Crab Grilled Cheese
St. George credits her cooking influence and inspiration to her Father who is from the South and her love for food of all kinds. “I love good food and I like to have variety. I noticed there weren’t many seafood spots locally and saw an opening for my business. I also think people like mom and pop restaurants. They can count on freshness and special twists to the dishes offered.”

And speaking of special twists, EyeSeaFood has plenty of them, with loaded shrimp or chicken fries, cheeseburger chowder and crab combo plates that will make you hungry on sight! When asked what sets EyeSeaFood apart from other restaurants in the area, St. George pointed to the consistency of quality and full flavors of her menu offerings. “The seafood chowder is from a homemade recipe, and is consistently good, fresh, and has lots of seafood in it. The shrimp isn’t over battered and is perfectly seasoned.” The menu boasts a delicious series of crab combos, including “The Mercedes”, an incredible platter that brings all of the seafood together that people really love at a great price. With lobster, shrimp, and crab legs galore, along with tasty potatoes and sweet corn, it’s a selection that you’re sure to make more than once!
Eyeseafood’s Cheeseburger Chowder
In addition to serving amazing food, EyeSeaFood has earned a reputation for serving the community as well. As COVID-19 numbers began to rise, EyeSeaFood remained a place where community members could get a hot meal. They would shut down on Wednesday’s to deliver meals to the elderly and immunocompromised individuals in the community. “That’s part of my nursing background showing up in the work I do now. Even before COVID-19, I was adamant about keeping the place clean, and had hand sanitizer for customers on the food truck.” In support of the Springfield community, EyeSeaFood even hosted an outdoor Juneteenth event with a DJ and food, and they hope to expand the event next year, if possible.
