Be Irie Roots Launches: Be at Peace with Your Roots
When the world slowed down in 2020, Denise Hall’s creative side began to reemerge. The time away from a busy office and a hectic commute freed her to think differently.
“It opened up the opportunity to be in my own creative space and focus on things I wanted to do for myself,” she said. One of those things was hair. For several years she’d been thinking of creating her own high-quality natural hair care products.
“I spent so much money on trying so many different products, and putting so many different things in my hair,” she said. To simplify the process, she created several products to do it all.
Through Be Irie Roots her goal is to encourage women to be at peace with their roots. Be Irie means to be happy with who you are.
“We want all women to love who they are, feel great about themselves, and not try to fit in any particular box but to embrace themselves and their hair,” Hall said.
Launching her own business hasn’t always been easy. More than once Hall was discouraged and questioned whether she should move forward. Fortunately she listened to her gut.
“A little voice kept telling me just keep going with it, take your time, there’s really not a rush or set date,” she said. “I think we put that in our own mind that we have to get this done right now.”
She reached out to mentors and other entrepreneurs for guidance. She also looked to the Stand Out TruckⓇ team for support. They gave her advice and ideas of how to start her marketing plan beyond mobile advertising. The collaboration helped her get a better idea of how she could reach her future customers.
When she uses the truck to announce her product launch, she has confidence it will give her leverage and control to reach a broader audience.
“You’re able to choose where your advertisements are going to be. It’s not just going up on a billboard in an area staying there, that can’t come down and change,” she said. “I also feel like it gives the owner more control of what is advertised, when and how.”
Her goal is to launch in mid-September with four homemade all-natural products: Irie Root Mud, Irie Root Growth Oil, Be Irie conditioner and Be Irie shampoo. The Irie Root Mud and Irie Root Growth Oil are both made from essential oils and all are Hall’s own creation.
Although the process has had ups and downs, Hall was to emphasize the importance of following dreams and not being discouraged.
“Even if it takes ten years, at least you reach your goal in ten years,” she said. “There’s no rush or deadline on a goal or a dream.”
Starting in today, her products can be ordered on the website, BeIrieRoots.com
