Realtor Helps Clients Find the Perfect Fit
LONGMEADOW, MA – Goldilocks and Cinderella’s prince aren’t the only ones searching for the right fit. Realtor Maria Serrano wants her clients to find a home that is ideal for them without feeling pressured.
“I feel like a lot of people feel rushed and they just want the first property that they see,” she said. “After they start living in it, they find out it wasn’t the perfect fit.”
The former property manager was inspired to get her real estate license after her own home buying experience, when she wasn’t given much information and soon realized the property wasn’t the best one for her. Now her goal is to be a resource for residents of Springfield before, during and after the process, and to be educated about the home they’re considering purchasing.
“People don’t always get all the information on the path to home ownership,” Serrano said. One way she hopes to accomplish this is through a virtual seminar about buying a home. The first Path to Home Ownership in 2022 from Start to Finish event will be March 30, and will soon be followed by in-person versions of the same program. Her goal is to help people know that she is available at every step even if they don’t qualify to buy a home immediately.
“It’s educating people on the process,” she said. “What can you do to set yourself up for success in being able to own your property?”
Standout Truck Guidance
Serrano first learned about Standout Truck through the monthly event Marketing and Cupcakes, giving business-minded people the opportunity to discuss and learn about marketing strategy and ideas for success.
She became intrigued with the idea of advertising on the truck, so she sat down with owner Mychal Connolly to discuss different ways to promote her business. Serrano had lots of ideas but wasn’t sure how to merge them with her goals. Connolly helped her focus on the right program to promote her business that would also benefit others.
After her home buyer workshop she plans to host monthly coffee chats so that anyone can stop by and ask her about real estate or home ownership at their leisure, while also supporting a local business and enjoying a coffee on Serrano.
A Local Resource
Serrano wants to continue to be a resource, not only for those who have questions about the home buying process, but for anything related to home buying. She recognizes that people need help with many aspects of ownership such as finding a contractor or helping to stage a home for sale.
She knows that there are plenty of great agents in the region, but believes she brings a unique perspective. Serrano is bilingual in English and Spanish and grew up in the Pioneer Valley. While she enjoys meeting new people and customer interaction, she also found her passion in real estate.
“I love properties,” she said. “No property is the same so you’re always learning something new.”
In this competitive market in particular, clients are easily discouraged. Serrano doesn’t want them to feel rushed or pressured to buy the wrong home, and she reminds everyone that there are continually new houses on the market.
“I always say when the right one’s for you, you’re going to get it,” she said.
