Springfield Business Puts Mobile Hydraulic Repair in Motion

Perez Custom Raising the Stakes

Springfield, Mass. – For 26 years, Christian Perez has honed his mechanical and automotive skills. Now he’s offering the city’s only mobile hydraulic repair so that those with hydraulic needs have an affordable option 24/7.

“You don’t have to call the big company, waste $90 just to pick up two fittings or have them make a line for you. And I can do it right there on the road for them,” he said.

His hydraulic skills are well-utilized by the Springfield Fire Department, where Perez serves as one of seven who are on-call around the clock for their equipment, gear and transportation repairs one week each month.

Perez stresses that there are “millions and millions” of potential problems when it comes to mechanical issues, and delights in the challenge of fixing something no one else can fix.

Building for the Future

His passion began in high school when a teacher inspired and encouraged him to pursue mechanics. Then Karl Anderson at Porter and Chester Institute taught him everything he knows about automobiles, and Perez turned that knowledge into his own business.

He opened Perez Custom, LLC, 17 years ago, and last year added the division focused on hydraulic repair.

The birth of his second son inspired him to create this second branch of his business. He’d ideally like to have one son take over the repair side and the other to have the hydraulic side.

“God has blessed me very well with automotive knowledge and mechanical knowledge,” he said, with hopes that his blessings will prosper in the future with a family business legacy.

“If I can leave them with some money to continue the business, and then to continue the business on to their children, that would be great for me,” Perez said.

Getting the message across

Perez recently added his message to a Stand Out Truck cohort, which features his advertising rotated with ten other businesses five days a week.

“Word of mouth has been very good to me, but I’m using Stand Out Truck to get to the bigger companies,” Perez said.

Although he hasn’t done a large amount of advertising in the past, his business logo is on his repair van and he knows the value of messaging on a vehicle. Still he acknowledges that can be limiting. “I can’t drive around everywhere,” he said. “They do.”

He’s hoping to target larger businesses that have construction equipment, landscapers, plow trucks, cherry pickers, shop lifts, or any mechanics that utilize hydraulic fluid.

Join the group. Your message can be added at an affordable rate to the Standout Truck Cohorts. For one hour a day, five days a week, you can join seven to ten other businesses with a rotating message. Cohorts are by invite only. For an invite text “cohort” to 413-251-6762.
