JAFRA Consultant Keeps Business Going Virtually

Springfield, MA - When you look good, you feel good, and helping people feel good is important to Rhonda Hall. As a beauty consultant for JAFRA she’s able to help people find their beauty starting from the inside.

“I just want to see people smile,” Hall said. “You never know whose life you’re going to affect.”

JAFRA has been offering beauty products through direct sales since 1956, with skincare and makeup products for men, women and teens. They’re among the direct sales companies where representatives bring products to people’s homes instead of shopping at a retail store. The pandemic forced the company - and Hall - to shift how business is done.

Now all sales are made online and shipped directly to the customer, but Hall is available for questions and is a wealth of information about products and the benefits of royal jelly, JAFRA’s claim to fame.

You never know whose life you’re going to affect.

The JAFRA website added online tools to interact directly with customers. One tool provides a virtual skin consultation, noting wrinkles, blemishes and areas with uneven tone. Another allows customers to test lip colors, eyeshadows and foundation tint.

“It’s a really nice way to give you things that you need but do it in a safe manner,” she said.

Hall is using the Standout Truck to boost awareness of the company’s product line and these new online tools, giving customers a personal service level when she can’t be in people’s homes.

“I’m grateful for the Standout Truck,” she said. “It helps me be able to continue my business.”

JAFRA was a part of Hall’s life 40 years ago when her mother was a consultant. Decades later she went to a JAFRA party and smelled a familiar and welcoming scent from her childhood: royal almond. That JAFRA consultant was about to move out of the state, so Hall realized the only way to ensure she could continue to purchase the almond-scented products was to become a consultant herself. Initially she had no intention of hosting parties or selling to others, but over time that changed as she incorporated products into her own family’s life.

Hall, who teaches special education full-time, shares a variety of lotions with students, employing scent to boost a positive mood.

“It’s a nice thing to make people feel good,” Hall said.

Hall does what she can to spread a positive attitude through JAFRA products. She feels that the products can have a ripple effect in making others feel better about themselves.

“The first thing people see is your face. Let’s try to make that face as beautiful as it can be in a way that fits them,” Hall said.
