Easthampton, MA — For several months, it was uncertain if Unbroken Wings’ largest annual fundraising event was even going to happen.

Thunder in the Valley was cancelled in 2020, then rescheduled for June of 2021, then cancelled again four months ago when the planned location chose not to allow any events this year.

That’s when the owners of Molitoris Orchard in Easthampton stepped forward, offering their property to host the eight-hour music festival on August 14.

“Everything’s falling into place now, but it was a lot of hoops to jump through,” said event organizer and Unbroken Wings president Mike Perrier.

All proceeds from Thunder in the Valley go to the Children’s Miracle Network and specifically the Baystate Children’s Hospital. The past two years have made it challenging for donations, particularly with lack of events and reduced business sponsorships.

“Hopefully we’ll get back on our feet after this year,” said Perrier.

Thunder in the Valley relies on sponsors to help fund the event so that more can benefit the Baystate Hospital. This year’s top sponsors will receive additional advertising through mobile billboard, Stand Out Truck. Advertising will rotate all day during Thunder in the Valley and will be viewed by an anticipated 3,000 spectators.

It only made sense to use the Stand Out Truck to let people know Thunder in the Valley was finally happening. The truck is a unique visual way to quickly share information with a community.

Gold, Silver and Bronze sponsorship opportunities are still available on Stand Out Truck for this event. And major advertisers can take advantage of extra publicity five days before Thunder in the Valley, as the truck drives through the area creating awareness about the event. Contact Bob at Stand Out Truck to become a sponsor.

On August 14 the Stand Out Truck will be joining the Children’s Miracle Ride, a group motorcycle ride of more than 250 bikes that starts in Northampton and ends at Thunder in the Valley. Then the truck will spend the day at the music event.

“Sponsors are going to get a lot of visibility,” Perrier said.

GOLD, SILVER AND BRONZE SPONSORSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE.

With only two months to replan the entire event and generate awareness, Perrier felt it only made sense to use the Stand Out Truck to let people know Thunder in the Valley was finally happening. The truck is a unique visual way to quickly share information with a community.

Thunder in the Valley started nine years ago as a very small event. It has grown and expanded and now hosts multiple bands, vendors, food trucks and a beer vendor.

“It’s been a roller coaster for those nine years, building and building and building,” said Perrier. “(This year) I think it’s going to be a home run.”

There will be added attractions of hot air balloon rides, pro wrestling and meeting cosplayers The Band of Heroes.

This year the event will be hosted by Noah Lis from “The Voice.” Performing bands include The Screamin’ Eagles, 80-HD, Poison tribute band Shot of Poison and Aerosmith tribute band Last Child.

While parking at Molitoris Orchard is free it is very limited, so carpooling is an ideal option. Folding chairs and blankets are encouraged along with bug spray and sunscreen. While a bottle of water is allowed no other food, beverages or pets are permitted.

Tickets are $20 online or $30 at the gate. Thunder in the Valley will take place rain or shine, but in case of dangerous weather the event may be moved to August 15. The musical event runs from 2 to 10 p.m.
