“I’ve always worked for someone else,” she said. “But I didn’t want that for my daughter. I wanted her to see what it looks like to work for yourself. To build something real from scratch.”

“Whether it’s a real estate agent welcoming clients or [hotels, restaurants and other businesses] stocking it for guests, our lemonade brings people together,” Kay said.
She’s even working on a freeze-dried powdered version in collaboration with Happy Man Freeze Dried. This version will be shelf-stable for a year, lightweight, and customizable—perfect for shipping, vending, and larger-scale distribution.

Kay isn’t just focused on flavor—she’s committed to sustainability. From reducing food waste by freeze-drying lemon parts normally discarded, to creating sugarcane straws inspired by her island roots, Journey’s Lemonade is building an eco-conscious future with every sip.
“We’re even phasing out straws and developing edible sugarcane ones,” she said. “I want our brand to be as sustainable as it is satisfying.”
